Wild car chase ends in Bridgeport
Police arrested a man Thursday they say led them on a dangerous chase that began on the Merritt Parkway.
State troopers say the car was spotted speeding and going the wrong way on the parkway.
The suspect then cut through local roads in Stratford and Bridgeport, before the pursuit ended on Deacon Street and Seaview Avenue.
"I [saw] the car parked there, and the next thing you know five cop cars were going this way," pointed out witness Jeffrey Skene, who helped direct police toward the suspect. "We ran up the street and told them, 'No, he's down this way.'"
The man was apprehended a short time later, police say.
Police say the driver had been issued a warrant Thursday and was wanted on several charges, including sexual assault in a cohabitating relationship.
