Stratford: City driver in crash lacked proper licensing
The Stratford public works driver who struck and killed a 14-year-old boy last month was not properly licensed, the city announced Tuesday.
Mayor Jim Miron said that while the driver, 42-year-old Robert Maloy, was issued ?three infractions,? he would not face any criminal charges.
The teen, Carlos Prada, was killed April 28 at East Main Street and Wilcoxson Avenue on his way to school.
A lawyer for the boy?s family, Don Papcsy, said the findings would give strength to their civil case.
