Alleged drug dealer killed in shootout with Easton PD

A reputed drug dealer was killed in a shootout with Easton police Sunday.

Police say they were executing a search warrant for drug paraphernalia at 55 Dogwood Dr. before it turned violent. According to authorities, the shootout was instigated after narcotics officers entered the house.

Two officers were injured in the shootout. Police are not yet releasing the names of the shootout's participants.

Since officers were involved in the shooting, state investigators have stepped in. As part of the probe, investigators were at the residence following the shooting to gather forensic evidence.

The department had responded to the residence less than two weeks ago for a drive-by shooting report.
