Police investigate shots fired in Stamford

Police in Stamford are investigating after residents reported hearing shots fired Wednesday night.

Authorities say neighbors reported hearing multiple shots around 9:30 p.m. They also say an SUV parked on Stephen Street was found with two bullet holes.

According to police, it is too early to clear up the circumstances of the shooting or how many people were involved. It is not known if someone was specifically targeted. Authorities say residents have been cooperating in the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Stamford Police Department at (203) 977-4444.
