Family, friends bid final farewell to teen killed in crash
Family and friends gathered Friday morning to say a final farewell to a Milford teenager who was killed in a car accident earlier this week.
The funeral for Shawn Foley was held at St. Ann Church on Naugutuck Avenue. Foley was only 17 years old when he died.
The church was packed, causing people to stand shoulder-to-shoulder as they said goodbye.
?I can?t imagine, you?re supposed to bury your parents when they get older,? said Katherine Gaynor, a Milford resident. ?They?re burying their son.?
Foley was a student at Jonathan Law High School. He was driving a car Monday night when the fatal accident occurred. Jonathan Dolceaqua, 18, was also killed in the crash. Both boys had celebrated their birthdays the day before.
Calling hours for Dolceaqua are scheduled for Friday afternoon at the Smith and Sefcik Funeral Home.
A third teen that was in the car, 16-year-old Michael Vicino, is in critical condition at Bridgeport Hospital.
Milford police are still investigating the accident, but have given the family and friends time to grieve before conducting interviews.
