Bridgeport school mourns loss of seventh-grader
A school in Bridgeport is mourning the loss of one of its students Thursday.
Officials said a seventh-grade student at the Blackham School was found dead by her parents in her bedroom Wednesday night, the victim of an apparent suicide. The school has students in kindergarten through eighth grade. A note was sent home to parents informing them of what the school called an ?untimely death.?
The district had counselors on hand to help students. One student said there were many tears shed at the school.
?I have to go home now and talk to them and make sure they're happy,? said parent Myrtho Northe after hearing the news.
Due to the sensitivity of the case, there were no more details given about the student?s death.
