Orange Police Officer Kevin Czesnowski, who was killed in a car crash over the weekend, was laid to rest Thursday.

Officer Czesnowski, 28, died Sunday when his SUV crashed into a concrete barrier on the Wilbur Cross Parkway. Authorities say the officer was not wearing his seatbelt and that it may be several weeks until details of the cause of the accident are released.

Family, friends and fellow officers from across the state gathered at St. Mary?s Church in Milford to pay their final respects.

Czesnowski served in the Town of Orange Police Department for two years. Those who knew him say Czesnowski?s goal in life was to help others.
