Stamford cop arrested in undercover drug sting

Bridgeport police arrested a Stamford police officer who allegedly bought drugs from an undercover cop for the purpose of distribution Friday.

An undercover officer arrested Stamford Police Officer Quinn Fillippino in the middle of the day at the corner of Fairfield and Howard avenues. Bridgeport police said cops were working at the intersection because of recurring problems there, although the investigation was not targeting Fillippino.

Fillippino, who served two years in the Army, recently completed the police academy after he was hired in March. He has been placed on paid administrative leave pending an investigation.
