Ordeal over noose decoration comes to an end
A Stratford family surrounded by controversy earlier this week over a Halloween decoration attended a final meeting with local leaders Friday about the ordeal.
Along with ghosts and goblins, a dummy hanging from a noose was also on display at the East Main Street home. Reverand Johnny Gamble, of Friendship Baptist Church, says he was offended by the decorations. After numerous complaints, the family removed the decoration. Now, local civil rights leaders and the family say they want to put the incident behind them and move forward.
