The Stratford man accused of shooting at police outside a Bridgeport gas station is out on bond Tuesday.
Authorities say 54-year-old John Bell opened fire Monday night on a multi-unit task force that arrived at the Mobil gas station at the intersection of East Main Street and Livingston Place. They say the unit was at the station to execute a search-and-seizure warrant.
According to investigators, officers fired back and a shootout ensued. Bell was shot in both arms and none of the officers were hurt.
Bell is free on $150,000 bond. Bell is facing several felony charges including assault on a police officer.
