Attack prompts police to step up patrols in Rowayton
Police are stepping up patrols in the Rowayton area after a woman was allegedly attacked by a would-be rapist in her backyard. The attack happened Saturday night while the woman took out the trash on Roton Avenue. According to police, the attacker grabbed the woman and ripped her shirt. They say the victim fought off the attacker by kicking him in the stomach and screaming. Police say this could signal the return of a man that some call the Rowayton Flasher ? a person that up until this point has remained distant in residents? backyards. ?The troubling thing is, it seems that this is a sign that he may be getting more aggressive,? said Norwalk Police Chief Harry Rilling. In response, police are stepping up patrols in the area.
