Police alert Stratford residents about rash of break-ins
Stratford police are warning Hollister Heights residents to be on alert after a string of recent break-ins.
According to police, several burglaries have taken place within the last month. Neighbors on Peace Street say they?ve seen cars and homes get broken into. Police say homes on that street, as well as Swanson Avenue and Soundview Avenue, have also been hit.
According to investigators, the robberies have had similar characteristics. They say the bandit broke in through open windows, took car keys and purses, and then drove off in stolen vehicles from the homes. They believe the incidents are related.
Stratford Mayor Jim Miron urges neighbors to use common sense. He also says police are stepping up patrols around Hollister Heights.
Police are encouraging residents to lock their doors and windows, activate alarm systems and leave lights on inside and outside their homes.
