More charges to be filed against driver who hit toddler

Police say more charges will be leveled against the driver who struck a 20-month-old baby in Bridgeport Wednesday night.

Kayanna Brayboy remains at Yale New Haven Hospital where she is hooked up to tubes and a breathing machine. The girl was pinned between the car and a convenience store. Doctors said the prognosis is not good, according to the child?s mother. The mother said she is confident her child will overcome the odds.

Police say they believe the driver was under the influence of alcohol and are awaiting toxicology reports.

A prayer vigil is planned for Friday evening at the corner of Hollister and Connecticut Avenue, where the accident occurred.
