Lawmakers to work on state budget through weekend
Connecticut will have to wait at least one more day before the state budget is voted on. A tentative deal was reached earlier this week. However, plans to vote on the budget Friday were scrapped after a late-night work session Thursday delayed the physical printing of the budget bills. The budget agreement includes nearly a 9 percent spending increase for next year with large investments in education and healthcare. Lawmakers are down to the final week of the fiscal year as the budget they're voting on kicks in on July 1.
