A domestic dispute resulted in shots fired by a Milford police officer Saturday according to authorities. The victim is currently at the Yale New Haven Hospital undergoing surgery for non-life threatening injuries according to police. A man brandishing a gun and knife greeted police responding to the scene witnesses said. Police said the victim did not respond to the cops? demands and was shot once in the hip as a result of not laying down his weapon. Authorities say an investigation is underway by the Connecticut State Police Major Crime Unit. The name of the officer involved is being withheld for 24 hours.
