Convicted drunken driver gets 12 years in prison
Tricia Coccomo was sentenced to 12 years in prison for her involvement in a drunken driving accident that claimed the lives of three people.Coccomo, a former teacher and mother of three, faced up to 45 years in prison. She had previously been convicted of three counts of criminal misconduct with a motor vehicle, three counts of second-degree manslaughter, and one count of drunken driving in the accident that killed Glenn Shelley, James Inverno and Barbara Inverno. The sentence hearing was packed and had to be moved to a larger courtroom due to the large attendance. One victim?s relative says that no one came out ahead today, calling it a shame for families of the victims and Coccomo as well. ?It really isn?t a win for anybody. No parents for the rest of my life, and her kids have to grow up without their mother for a little while.? Coccomo?s children are being cared for by her mother-in-law.
