$400M possibly coming down the track for southwestern CT train stations
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT) has proposed $400 million for improving a number of train stations in the area. Stations up and down the New Haven line are scheduled to see repairs over the next few years. The plan calls for several improvements including better lighting, the addition of platform benches and the replacement of the old parking garage at the Stamford station. There is even talk of moving the entire Talmadge Hill Station in New Canaan, since traffic in both directions must stop every time a train is at the location. DOT officials are expected to meet with representatives from towns and cities to come up with a priority plan for the improvements.
