Girlfriend points finger at boyfriend in Stamford slaying
The girlfriend of a man accused of killing a Stamford woman took the stand against him Thursday as part of a plea deal.Jennifer Kos, of Seymour, told a court she was in another room with the victim's roommate during the murder of 75-year-old Joanne Troutwein. Kos testified to seeing Troutwein bound and gagged, but couldn't say how the woman was killed. Kos is accused of holding a pillow over the roommate's head while Gonzalez allegedly slashed Troutwein's throat during a robbery in October 2005.
Kos, who confessed to being an accomplice, may get up to 70 years taken off her prison term in exchange for her testimony. A defense attorney for Gonzalez argues Kos' testimony is meant to confuse the case. He also takes issue with Kos' account, which casts blame on Gonzalez.Related Information:
