Raging fire engulfs family home in Easton

An Easton home was destroyed Sunday by a raging fire while the owners were away on vacation.Roger Morf and his wife were out of town when the flames engulfed their stone and wood house on Maple Drive in Easton. It took firefighters more than two hours to get the fire under control. It was too dangerous for firefighters to go inside, so they had to battle the flames from the outside. Firefighters had to chain saw through the ice to suck water out of nearby ponds. A neighbor called the homeowners to tell them their house was gone. Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
