A financial advisor is being called a hero for chasing down a bank robber in downtown Stamford. Twenty-five-year-old Justin Quagliani was working at the bank when the suspect, Christopher Alvin, entered, grabbed the money and attempted to flee the scene. Quagliani says running after Alvin was his first reaction. After a foot chase down Main Street, Quagliani, a former military police officer, caught up with the robber in a parking garage near the Black Bear Saloon. When the suspect attempted to reach in his pocket, Quagliani grabbed for his arm, punched him and was able to hold him until the police arrived.Alvin, 37, is charged with assault and robbery. Stamford police were able to recover all of the stolen cash. Quagliani says he is getting a lot of praise for his heroic efforts but he will stick with his day job.
