Friends and family members are in shock Tuesday after news broke that a Bridgeport father was seriously injured and his teen daughter was killed in a head-on collision.

The crash happened on Moose Hill Road in Shelton near the Trumball line. Shelton police say 14-year-old Nia Stephenson was killed and her father, Andrew, was injured after their car collided with another vehicle. According to police, black ice on the road may have caused of the crash.

Nia?s father is listed in serious condition at Bridgeport Hospital. The driver of the other car, 17-year-old Michael Plude Jr., of Shelton, suffered minor injuries in the crash.
