School funding highlights meeting of political minds in Bridgeport
Connecticut?s speaker of the house spent Tuesday in Bridgeport discussing the city?s priorities.
Bridgeport?s legislators wanted a chance to sit down with Speaker of the House Jim Amann (D-Milford) to develop his support. They also hoped to lay the foundation of what they hope to accomplish this year. Amann says cooperation between Bridgeport leaders, the mayor?s office and the state of Connecticut is key to meeting priorities.
Amann met with the legislators at McKinley School in order to highlight the financial needs of the school system. Bridgeport legislators say before they set their priorities, they want to hear from residents. A public hearing will be held January 11 in the Council chambers at City Hall.
