A man accused of stabbing his wife to death in their Bridgeport apartment, before stabbing himself, is expected to survive.
According to police, neighbors called police after hearing the couple fighting and the woman screaming. The couple was found on the bed -- the 29-year-old woman dead and her husband injured. Ismael Alameida, 34, has been charged with murder.
Alameida is in Bridgeport Hospital under police guard and is being held on $1 million bond. Police say the couple came to Connecticut from Brazil, and they are believed to be in the state illegally. Officials are not releasing the woman's name until they can locate her relatives.
