Two men are dead after an apparent murder-suicide in Milford Wednesday afternoon.

Police say 56-year-old Michael Savignano was found with a gunshot wound to the chest on Hollywood Avenue. The alleged shooter, 46-year-old Vincent Edwards, took off for his home on nearby Midway Avenue and climbed to the roof. When police surrounded the home, officials say the man fired one shot then pointed the gun to his head for the second shot.

Police say the two men were familiar with each other. A motive for the shooting is being investigated.

Jonathan Law High School was briefly locked down as police investigated the shooting.
