Metro-North has announced that the New Haven line is running on or close to schedule after delays during Friday's evening rush hour.

Train traffic had been suspended between South Norwalk and East Norwalk while crews worked to close the Walk Bridge, which got stuck.

The MTA was providing 24 buses from the Bronx to shuttle Metro-North customers between South Norwalk and East Norwalk. They then were able to use two of the four tracks with restricted speeds. It is now running back on or close to schedule.

The train service between Stamford and Grand Central was not impacted.

This bridge is the same one that had a problem last week and stopped trains for hours during the morning commute.

The bridge was built in 1986 and swings open for marine traffic. The state has applied for $350 million in federal funding to replace the bridge.

Gov. Malloy also released a statement Friday saying he's calling for a crisis summit to be held in the coming days with the state, MTA and Metro-North to talk about this ongoing problem.
