Former MLB star Pete Rose manages Bridgeport Bluefish for one game

Baseball's all-time hits leader Pete Rose was on hand at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport Monday night, where he managed the Bridgeport Bluefish for one game.

Rose arrived at the ballpark about three hours before the first pitch against the Lancaster Barnstormers. He watched batting practice and gave hitting advice to some of the Bluefish players.

Rose was banned from Major League Baseball for life more than 20 years ago for betting on his own team when he managed the Cincinnati Reds. Since the Bluefish are not affiliated with the MLB, Rose was allowed to work with them for the night.
