SUV with dog inside stolen in Stamford
A Norwalk man says his SUV was stolen this morning with his 10-year-old basset hound, Harry, inside.
The incident occurred near the Stamford train station at around 12:30 a.m. while Eric Wargin says he was helping out a friend.
Wargin says he was only feet away from his SUV when it was stolen. He fears the thief was able to get away quickly due to the close proximity to I-95.
The dog owner says Harry wasn't wearing a collar, but has an identification micro-chip.
"They can take the truck, but there's no way Harry can be replaced," Wargin told News 12.
Wargin says this has been especially difficult for him because his other dog just died this past Wednesday.
He reported the theft to Stamford police.
