Gravedigger assaulted by bicyclist at Union Cemetery in Easton

Police say a gravedigger was assaulted on Sunday afternoon at Union Cemetery in Easton.

The 72-year-old gravedigger was pulling his truck out of a driveway at the cemetery on Sport Hill Road when police say a bicyclist came up behind his truck and exchanged words with him. The bicyclist allegedly pulled him out of the truck he was in and kicked him in the back.

When the gravedigger tried to get up off the ground, police say the bicyclist pushed him down again. He then got back on his bicycle and took off.

A witness called 911 after the incident. Police do not know what prompted the fight between the two men.
