Police in Bridgeport confirm one person is dead after a motorcycle accident Friday night.
The crash happened at around 11 p.m. near exit 2 on the northbound side of the Route 8/25 connector.
City officials say the victim was the son of Bridgeport Police Sgt. Manny Cotto.
In a statement, Mayor Bill Finch and Police Chief Joseph Gaudette said their thoughts and prayers are with Sgt. Cotto and his family at this very difficult time.
There is no word yet on what caused the accident.
