Residents celebrated News Year's Eve throughout southwestern Connecticut.
Westport-Weston's annual family-friendly First Night kicked off at 3 p.m., and all the events ran until 10 p.m. At 10 p.m., they set off fireworks from a barge on the Saugatuck River.
Some of the activities families enjoyed at First Night were slides, bouncy houses and even a horse drawn carriage.
In Greenwich, a New Year's celebration at the Hyatt Regency to benefit the National Alliance on Mental Illness was held.
