Residents concerned over cuts to mental health services

Many residents of western Connecticut are protesting the funding cuts included in the new House-approved version of President Donald Trump's health care bill.
News 12 spoke with several people participating in Saturday's Fairfield County Walk for Mental Health in Norwalk, who say they are opposed to the cuts to Medicaid under the new bill.
People at the event say the bill, which would allow states to deny mental health coverage, would not only hurt them physically, but would stop them from being able to hold down jobs and contribute to their communities.
Rep. Jim Himes says it's too early to know what health care bill, if any, the Senate will pass. The House bill, he says, would take away health insurance for 24 million people and Medicaid cuts would also cut mental health benefits.
