A Philadelphia teenager will be making history in Greenwich this summer.
19-year-old Shariah Harris is the first African-American female to play high goal polo, the highest level of the sport in the United States.
Since last month, Harris has been a member of the Postage Stamp Farm team at the Greenwich Polo Club.
Her career began after becoming involved with the non-profit group Work To Ride, which teaches inner-city children about horse riding and polo.
Harris is grateful for the support she's receiving, saying, "It's great having all my friends and family having everyone here come watch me play."
Harris will remain in Greenwich until next week. In the fall, she will return to Cornell University, where she is a member of the school's women's polo team.
