Disabled girl gets chance to meet Justin Bieber, then he cancels tour

A Bridgeport girl with a neurological disease was hooked up with the chance to see Justin Bieber, her favorite artist, next month thanks in part to her school nurse -- but an announcement on the singer's website Monday says that his tour is canceled.
Cintia Balog is an 8-year-old with a condition that left her without full use of her limbs. She spent much of the year in the nurse's office at Black Rock School, where she became close with Sherri Knapp, the nurse.
Knapp says Cintia is an inspiration who helps cheer up others despite her limitations.
But it's talk about Bieber that has cheered her up in the nurse's office, Knapp says.
"Her face just lit up, you know, big eyes, big smile," Knapp says. "She'd get a little silly when we would mention Justin Bieber."
Knapp says she promised Cintia earlier this year that she would try to arrange a meeting between the two. She tried unsuccessfully on social media, but then linked up with a nonprofit called the Do It For The Love Foundation -- a wish-granting organization that brings people with serious illnesses to live concerts.
Cintia was given the chance to go as a VIP to Bieber's concert at MetLife Stadium next month with four tickets, a hotel stay and transportation to meet the pop star.
"This is my first time to see him, and I'm so excited," she said earlier.
But Bieber abruptly announced the cancellation Monday, citing "unforeseen circumstances."
"Justin loves his fans and hates to disappoint them," a statement on the singer's website reads. "After careful consideration he has decided he will not be performing any further dates. Tickets will be refunded at point of purchase."
