Police: Convicted felon arrested for gun possession

A convicted felon was arrested for possession of a semi-automatic handgun after a routine traffic stop, officials say.
News 12 is told Federico Cannon was a passenger in a car that police pulled over, where police say they found a 9 mm semi-automatic handgun under his seat.
Officials say Cannon is a convicted felon on probation for federal weapons charges.
Chief AJ Perez says the arrest should send a clear message that police are serious about cracking down on gun violence.
