Metro-North experiences delays following pedestrian fatally struck

Metro-North experienced delays Wednesday morning after a man was fatally struck by a Metro-North train at the Port Chester station.
According to officials, the person was hit around 6:45 a.m. MTA officials say they are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the man's death.
Commuters dealt with delays on the New Haven line of nearly an hour during the morning rush. MTA workers directed all riders to the Connecticut-bound platform while the city-bound platform was shut down.
Trains between Greenwich and Rye also experienced delays.
The scene was finally cleared just after 8:30 a.m., and the city-bound platform was reopened.
Officials also say there was a small brush fire on the tracks near the station this morning.
