Officials look to help homeless, disabled couple in Bridgeport

Efforts are being made in Bridgeport to help a couple who are homeless and disabled.
Bridgeport Police Chief AJ Perez contacted News 12 Connecticut to say he found out that Pedro Natal, 39, and Lindsey Cioffi, 28, were living in their car for the past eight months.
He says that now, they are going to be living on the street.
Natal says the couple's nightmare began when he lost his job. He says he wants to go back to work as a carpenter's assistant but has not been able to find work.
He says he also has to care for Cioffi, making for a double burden.
Cioffi was born with a muscle disorder which has confined her to a wheelchair since childhood, and Natal has facial paralysis and other debilitating conditions.
The couple has an 8-year-old daughter who is now staying with a relative, and four dogs.
When Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim learned about the case Saturday, he decided to extend the couple's stay at the Sunnyside Inn motel and agreed to try and find them long-term housing.
