Police arrest suspect accused of selling drugs in Stamford park

Officials made an arrest Friday after a monthslong drug investigation in Stamford.
The suspect, Richard Rotante, is accused of selling cocaine in Scalzi Park.
Detectives say they found Rotante - nicknamed "Ton Head" - selling drugs in the park Friday and later found more than 3 pounds of cocaine, cash and paraphernalia in a vehicle where he lives on Euclid Avenue.
News 12 is told the drugs could be worth up to $200,000.
Officers believe catching accused "drug wholesalers" like Rotante will hopefully have a real impact on drug use in the community.
They say while Rotante had customers all over Fairfield County, he made most of his sales close to home.
Rotante is charged with six criminal counts, including operating a drug factory. He is free on bond and due back in court Aug. 31.
Police in Stamford say they expect more arrests to be made.
