The leadership at a Bridgeport church on the brink of closing updated its parishioners on their financial status Friday.
Cathedral of the Holy Spirit Church is reportedly facing foreclosure after fighting for seven years with Foundation Capital Resources over what the church is saying is the company's financial malpractices.
The church started a campaign to raise $100,000 for legal defenses, and have brought in $48,000 so far.
"It would be impossible for me to be able to even fight for this ministry -- fight for the legacy and history of this, not just ministry, this church, but my father if I had not had such amazing members," said Pastor Kenneth Moales.
The church also announced that they have a new legal team, and hope to bring the case in front of a U.S. District Court judge in New Haven.
