A high school in Bridgeport was locked down Thursday morning after police say a fight broke out in the cafeteria.
It happened around 11:30 a.m. at Bassick High School on Fairfield Avenue.
Police and other first responders were on the scene within a matter of minutes.
Officials say the fight was sparked by comments about a recent murder at the Green Homes apartment complex.
According to authorities, it does not appear anyone was seriously hurt, but they follow a very strict protocol for security reasons in cases such as this.
Police say the school was placed in lockdown as authorities investigated – talking with witnesses and tending to one person who appeared to have minor injuries.
Police say multiple arrests have been made and some students were released into the custody of their parents without being charged.
