Fairfield mother fatally struck by vehicle in Stamford ID’d
Police in Stamford have identified the Fairfield mother of two fatally struck while walking to work.
It happened Tuesday around 7 a.m. at Elm and North State streets downtown.
According to police, the preliminary investigation shows Lynette Wagner, 59, was in the crosswalk as she crossed North State Street heading for the Henkel building.
Wagner had just gotten off the train and was just feet away from the Henkel building where she worked.
The Stamford Advocate reports the driver of the car initially told police he hit the bag Wagner was rolling behind her, but that is not matching witness reports.
