The residents of Pleasant Street in Bridgeport say the past few days have been rather unpleasant because it took a handful of complaints before the city finally plowed the snow from their neighborhood.

Crews cleared the road several days after a storm dumped about a foot of snow on the region.

Some families were unable to leave their homes during that time, including one with a disabled son who had to reschedule multiple appointments and miss scheduled guitar gigs because even the slightest bit of snow complicates movement in his wheelchair.

"Snow removal is kind of essential for me to get around," Michael Bullock says. "And I really rely on the streets and sidewalks being properly plowed so I can get to where I need to go."

Idella Kelsey-Bullock, Michael's mother, says she is also disabled and unable to clear the sidewalk herself.

"My income is limited," she says. "I can't afford to pay someone to remove the snow. If I could, I would."

City officials say residents can report unplowed roads online or over the phone. Details can be found on the city's website.
