Residents are being urged to clear out storm drains to prevent flooding from the expected rain coming on Friday.
City workers have been trying to clear snow and debris before up to three inches of rain falls between Thursday and Saturday.
Officials say there is a big risk for flooding because the rain will not have anywhere to go due to the snow covering up many storm drains.
Mike Maiorino Jr. of Mike’s Septic Service in Norwalk says not wait for the city to clear these drains and for residents to clear the way.
Another way to help prevent flooding is to clear out the snow from roof gutters.
