A West Haven woman is facing charges after allegedly kneeing her daughter's basketball coach in the groin.
Milford police say Tara Severino's daughter came home from school Wednesday night and said her basketball coach at West Haven Middle School was a little too hard on the team at practice.
Police say the 52-year-old Severino then showed up at Foran High School Thursday night during a girls’ junior varsity basketball game looking for the coach.
"She was loud, she was abusive and she was using profanity," says Officer Mike DeVito. "It escalated, and towards the end of it she actually kneed the victim in the groin."
Authorities say the victim is OK and Severino was released. She is due in court next month.
