New Jersey saw unseasonably warm weather Friday with high temperatures over 60 degrees.
It was a large contrast from a week ago when temperatures were well below freezing.
Although there was heavy rain for most of the day, people all over the state were seen in shorts, T-shirts and flip-flops – even though it was Jan. 12.
“Wear flip-flops whenever you can, right?” said one New Jersey resident.
“It’s nice not to bundle up,” said another resident. “It’s annoying to put on tons of layers, take them off, that sort of thing.”
The warmer weather may be short-lived.
Temperatures are expected to get back down into the 30s and 20s by the weekend and going into next week. More snow is expected Tuesday.
