A manager at the Westport Library turned himself in to police Monday after being accused of having child pornography.
Police say they caught Robert Kelly trying to share child pornography on Facebook and found dozens of illicit images on electronics at his Westport home.
Officials say there is no evidence that Kelly viewed child pornography at the library itself.
Bill Harmer, the library's executive director, said in a statement to News 12, "We are shocked and saddened by this news. The safety of the library patrons, staff and the community is a priority for us. The moment we were made aware of this investigation, we immediately restricted Mr. Kelly's access to the library and its property, and instructed him not to perform his duties."
Kelly's attorney says his client did not have contact with children at his library job. He is currently free on $100,000 bond and due back in court next month.
