Twins in Norwalk are being called heroes after they saved their mom from choking.
It happened Sunday night.
High school seniors Emily and William Dougherty had been home doing homework upstairs when they heard a knocking on the stairwell.
Emily says she immediately went downstairs and saw her mom couldn't breathe and that she was turning blue.
She tried to help, but says she was too scared and weak in the moment, so she called for her brother, William.
William had earbuds in, so he initially didn't know what was happening, but once he got downstairs, he saw his mother was choking and performed the Heimlich maneuver.
William says he wouldn't have been able to help save his mom's life if it weren't for his sister alerting him.
He's not quite sure if he learned the Heimlich maneuver from his middle school health class, or from a movie he saw, but he's just glad it worked.
