Report: Connecticut ranks 46th in US in highway performance, cost-effectiveness

A new report ranks Connecticut 46th in the nation in highway performance and cost-effectiveness.

According to the Annual Highway Report by the Reason Foundation, Connecticut ranks sixth in fatality rate, 44th in deficient bridges, 35th in rural Interstate pavement condition, 27th in urbanized area congestion, and 26th in urban Interstate pavement condition.

The state also ranks 50th in administrative disbursements per mile and 44th in total disbursements per mile.

Connecticut's state-controlled highway mileage makes it the 44th largest system in the U.S.

The report utilizes data reported to the federal government by each state.
