State trooper killed in crash with tractor-trailer

A Connecticut state trooper died in a crash with a tractor-trailer on Interstate 84 in Tolland Thursday, police say.
Kevin Miller, a 19-year veteran of the state police, was on duty at the time.
Police closed the highway for hours to investigate.
Officers and firefighters lined up alongside I-84 to pay their respects as a procession brought the slain trooper's body to the medical examiner's office in Farmington.
Miller is the first state trooper to die in the line of duty since 2010, when Trooper Kenneth Hall was struck by a driver as he was giving someone a ticket on the side of Interstate 91.
