Police in Stamford say they have charged the driver who allegedly struck and killed a Fairfield woman as she was walking to work in January.

George Christiansen turned himself in Friday morning to face a charge of second-degree manslaughter.

Police say Christiansen made a right turn at a red light when he struck 58-year-old Lynette Wagner as she walked at the crosswalk near Elm Street. The Fairfield woman was walking to work at the time.

Christiansen was released on $25,000 bond.
