Kennedy Center's 67th awards dinner held in Bridgeport

The 67th Annual Kennedy Center Awards Dinner was held in Bridgeport Thursday night.

The awards honor businesses, volunteers and staff for their outstanding contributions.

This year, Fairfield University took home the VIP Award in recognition for its ongoing commitment to serving individuals with disabilities.

Keynote Speaker Rick Sebastian, president and CEO of the Kennedy Center, addressed the importance of community engagement.

News 12 Connecticut also received an award, which reporter Frank Recchia accepted.
